by territorial overlap and tradition, it is paired with whole milk mountain cheeses, or used in the mix for cheese canederli and to lessen the acidity of sauerkraut.

plant variety
shrub of the ericacee family, typical of the alpine landscape, growing to ca. 40-90cm in height, with red flowers and green leaves with reddish undersides. it prefers the acidic soil and cold temperatures typical of high altitudes. patience and modesty are reflected in rhododendron flowers according to japanese floral lore, hanakotoba.
